We are in a race to heaven. Yeshua was taken up to heaven but He left us with a promise of a comforter (John 14:16) Why a comforter? He knew that the road wouldn’t be easy (Hymn: it’s not an easy road, we are traveling to heaven …)

Yes, the bible says that Yeshua is the WAY (John 14:6) And it also said that narrow is the WAY that leads to eternal life but broad is the way that leads to death and many that be that follow it (Matthew 7:14)

When you accept Yeshua as your Lord and Personal Saviour, you have entered the WAY for Yeshua is the WAY that leads to God. But he said that the WAY is narrow and is full of thorns. This is because, He, the WAY, suffered many things, crowned with thorns, faced many difficulties, rejection, poverty, flogged, mocked, spat upon, name them. He knows that in following him, in walking on him,

in following his footsteps, you will encounter those things along that path, hence the promise of a comforter to comfort and encourage us along the WAY. The scriptures say, ” In this world you will suffer tribulations but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

But even at that, he still had to bring to our attention that there is another thing we need which will sustain us along the WAY. And that thing is ENDURANCE. He that endureth to the end… (Mark 13:13)
So, you are filled with the HOLY SPIRIT, you are burning with fire for God, but you still need to be endurant in the face of those challenges because they must surely come.

Many Holy Ghost filled ministers fell along the WAY because they couldn’t endure to the end. Who’s he that would be saved? Who is he that would make heaven? Only he that endureth to the end. So, it’s not enough to be HOLY SPIRIT filled, it’s not enough for you to be on fire for God but you must also be endurant. It’s a function of SELF-CONTROL. That’s why in the book of 2Timothy 1:7, It says, “I have not given you the spirit of fear, but of love, sound mind and SELF-CONTROL.”

While walking along the WAY, there are many things that constitute boisterous wind that could shift our gaze from God (our destination) and make us sink like Peter.

The scriptures noted them to us as the Love of the world and the things of this world, lust of the flesh (food , women), lust of the eyes (prosperity, riches, wealth)

and pride of life (fame, influence, allowing your achievements to get into your head, power) (1John 2:15-17) Those things can take our gaze away from the Lord and we fall out. And Yeshua said, he that enduereth to the end… Do you have the stamina to resist the devil so that he would flee from you when those things mentioned above are presented before you?(James 4:7)
Those things above are pleasures and desires of men. Do you have the stamina to resist the temptations that those things present? He that endureth to the end… Some great ministers that fell couldn’t endure in resisting the dish of fornication and adultery when they were served to them. Others sank in the ocean of their accomplishments, fame and influence. Yet some others couldn’t endure in resisting the lure of riches and power when the opportunity was presented to them. The bible says that we are not ignorant of the wiles of the devil (2Corinthians 2:11)

Satan presented them before Yeshua in the wilderness, but he, out of endurance resisted them all. The devil presented him with food after he had fasted 40 days and nights and his body was yearning for food (lust of the flesh)

he lured him to abuse his knowledge of God,

he tempted him with power, wealth, fame and influence ( pride of life and lust of the eyes) But he resisted them all and the bible says that he left him for a while (Luke 4:13)
The reason why I said, “ENDURING IN RESISTING THE DEVIL” is because, when he tempts you now and you resist him, he will leave you for a while and then come back again to tempt you with a different thing. You keep resisting, he keeps coming back after a while. Do you have the stamina to keep ENDURING in resisting him or would you be fed up and give in?

The second scenario is when he presents you with hardships, difficulties, trials. And his aim is for you to back out since those things would bring distractions and lower your spirit.
And Yeshua said, narrow is the WAY that leads to eternal life. Narrow WAY means it can’t accommodate all; it can’t accommodate many; it’s focus driven; it is driven by discipline; it’s not pleasurable; it’s not bread and butter but it is for those who by endurance can withstand the wiles of the devil and to STAND at the end. It’s a BATTLE FIELD! (Ephesians 6:10-18)

Ephesians 6:13 says, “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” You can’t STAND, unless you first ENDURED to the end. The WAY is a BATTLE FIELD, that’s why it’s termed NARROW. It means denying yourself, carrying your cross and follow the WAY (Matthew 16:24, Luke 9:23)

“Sell all that you have, come and follow me” (Matthew 19:21, Luke 18:22) And he was grieved because he had great riches for it is easy for a camel to pass through an eye of a needle than for a rich man to make heaven. He that endureth to the end…

The scriptures say that the kingdom of God suffereth violence (from multitudes) and ONLY THE VIOLENT (an individual) take it by force (Matthew 11:12) Many flood the WAY but only the endurant few are saved. Heaven experiences the push of the flood of the multitude trying to enter, but only the endurant few are chosen.
“Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able.” (Luke 13:24) A violent man is an ENDURING man, he is the one that keeps striving to enter through SELF – CONTROL keeps resisting the devil.

When you preach to many people, they believe and accept the gospel and heaven experiences the violence of that rush to the WAY. But when the test of that faith comes, many back out. Only the endurant few who remain become the chosen few (Matthew 13:1-23)

1: Along the WAY is hatred, jealousy, blackmailing, betrayals, slandering, conspiracy. Not from an outsider nor from a stranger. But from members of your own family, your friends and your household, your fellow ministers (Psalm 41:9, Matthew 10:36) Some will seek your life. And you must forgive and love them for they are acting under the influence of the spirit they allowed to use them against your ministry (Matthew 16:23, Luke 6:28, Matthew 5:44, 2Timothy 2:26) He that endureth to the end…

2: Along the WAY is rejection, loneliness. When a spouse accepts the Lord and the other refuses to follow but wants both of them to remain in the world (Matthew 10:34-39) When your colleagues at work want you to remain in the world with them doing all those dirty things and stealing the company’s money. When your friends are enraged with you for not remaining in your former lifestyle – reckless lifestyle – with them because you have decided to follow the WAY. Suddenly, they all gang up against you telling all manner of lies against you and bringing false accusations against you. They begin to frustrate your life at home, at work all in a bid to make you compromise your faith. And you must forgive them and pray that God should bless and prosper them. He that endureth to the end…

3: Along the WAY is lack – most times financial crisis, material lack etc(Luke 21:34) And the bills are coming – house rent, school fees, food, light bill – and your wife won’t take it (Job 2:9)
Yet, the Lord says he didn’t call the seed of Jacob to serve him in vain (Isaiah 45:19) and that you are better than the birds of the sky which don’t store food for themselves but the Lord feeds them (Matthew 6:26-34) Then your neighbors begin to ask you where is your God!? Where is your God!!? Has he traveled? Curse God and die! Then they begin to present to you unholy sources of income – we will take you to someone who will make you rich instantly. Would you accept it? He that endurereth to the end…
He that endurereth to the end…only he shall be saved; only he shall make heaven.
Yeahua wasn’t left out of these things. He suffered rejection from his own family (John 1:11, Mark 6:4, John 7:5)
He had not a place to lay his head (Luke 9:58)
He was mocked, spat upon, beaten, they set traps for him against Caesar, He bled, He wore a crown of thorns, he had nothing to draw attention to himself (Isaiah 53:1-10)
At Gethsamane, he almost gave up – “Father, if it’s possible, let this cup pass me by,…” (Matthew 26:36-39)
But he received grace of endurance as the angels came ministering to him (Luke 22:43)
He that enduererth to the end…

What do you stand to achieve if you endure to the end?
He that enduereth to the end SHALL BE SAVED.
He that enduereth to the end, SHALL BE CLOTHED IN WHITE RAINMENT.
He that enduereth to the end, HIS NAME SHALL REMAIN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE.

I pray for us, that no matter what the devil presents our WAY to make us give up or to cause distractions on our journey on the PATH to heaven, his wiles, his schemes, his subtleties, his roarings like a lion seeking souls to devour…
Receive strength in your inward man, receive stamina in your spirit, receive extra measure of God’s grace to endure in resisting the devil and at the end, we shall stand saved in Yeshua,’s name, AMEN. Say, I receive strength, in my inward man, I receive stamina, in my spirit, I receive power in my being, I receive extra measure of God’s grace to endure in resisting the devil, his wiles, his schemes, his devices, his subtleties, his roaring like a lion seeking whom he may devour, seeking whom he may push out of the WAY in Yeshua’s name, AMEN. The spirit of SELF – CONTROL arise within me, the power of SELF – CONTROL, the urge of SELF -CONTROL arise within me and be made manifest in Yeshua’s name, AMEN. God bless you.

I am carefully and wonderfully made.
